CHARACTER
NAME: Elyssia
CANON: Armello
CANON POINT: Pre-game
AGE: Adult
BACKGROUND:
As with most of the Armello heroes, not a lot of detail is given for Elyssia's background. just a rundown of how her life has shaped her ideals. She's a prominent member of the Rabbit Clan, whose culture is all about prestige, politics, and craftsmanship above all else. She holds one of the prestigious positions of Warden/Wardress of Warrens, a select few who are in charge of strengthening and maintaining the defenses of the various Rabbit Clan burrows throughout Armello. In the novellas, this position also was authorized to put any disrupting Clan members to death. Most Wardens/Wardresses prefer to work out of the shadows rather than interact with those in lower stations, but Elyssia is noted to actively work right out in front with everyone else. She's noted to have used her political power to bully others, but to ultimately have put the majority of her time and energy into bettering her craft and her Clan with a sincere desire to help it flourish.

Elyssia is definitely not old enough to recall when the King first came to Armello's throne, but she began to see the signs of his increasing madness the same as everyone else. It even corrupted one of the most prestigious houses in the Clan, revealing some dealings with spies of the Rat Clan for the King. But as the unrest spreads across the kingdom, she's begun to realize that she can do more outside of her burrows and is moving to act on that realization.

PERSONALITY:
Elyssia is noted to be pragmatic, a hard worker, and loyal to her craft. She's usually composed in nearly everything she does, from how she speaks to interacting with others directly. But that's not really out of the ordinary for the Rabbit Clan. She's just the textbook example: aristocratic, hard-working, and extremely proud of the skills that have put her at one of the highest positions in Rabbit society. Despite the fact that she likes to act based on the facts that she has, Elyssia is also an artist and has big dreams for a bright future. She just won't jeopardize her art or dream with rash actions.

In personality when addressing others, Elyssia is proper, aloof, and can come across as somewhat condescending. She's generally calm and collected, with the only demonstrations of her composure breaking being in her Laugh prompt requiring her to quickly compose herself and her Curse prompt being an exclamation of "Whose fault was that?!" rather than being an actual curse. She's portrayed as being somewhat stern and stony, not really ever showing uncertainty or fear. Even her Mercy prompt is her telling the other Heroes not to get in her way, which makes sense because her primary role is to protect. She can't really afford to show weakness especially in the upcoming fight for the throne.

Elyssia isn't much of a fighter, her disposition lending more to defense and paying her way to victory. With a higher Wits rating than almost any other stat, sitting at 5, she's good at collecting resources and thinking her way out of trouble. She has a position of power that allows her to bully others without consequences when she sees fit, but she also recognizes the value in pushing herself and others to work harder and to improve more. As such, she doesn't usually sit on the sidelines and is perfectly willing to get hands-on when she needs to. She often has a drive that can accomplish great things and a work ethic that few in her clan can match. This extends to one of her quotes in-game acknowledging a run of bad luck but also saying that it's no excuse for what happened. Literally "Bad luck, but that's no excuse."

While other animals in and out of her clan are competing for the throne for glory, because of destiny, because they think no one else is fit to take the throne, to bring Armello to a more primal time, or just for the fun of trying, she's considering it because she has big dreams and believes she can help Armello thrive in the aftermath of the mad king. She's looked at the greatness she's brought to the burrows and realized that there's more she can do for the kingdom as a whole. She doesn't seem to have any bias toward any of the other Heroes at all and just seems to be doing her own thing. She could potentially work well with any of them, but she wouldn't really be expecting them to carry her to the end. Or even part of the way there, and she probably also wouldn't be the one doing the carrying.

One major flaw that hinders the various members of the rabbit clan can be their pride. Unless they have already been humbled in a major way, such as Amber's family being forced into poverty through actions they weren't part of, rabbits are very prideful when it comes to their skills and status, as well as their understanding of the situations that they find themselves in. This ego is exploitable if she isn't careful to let her practical mind keep it in check.

Overall, Elyssia is one of the most competent and crafty artisans that her clan has to offer. She's a little aloof and very proud, but she cares about others and has the potential to accomplish great things. Prudence and her wits are tools found on her belt right along with her hammer and measuring staff, and she'd be a great ally for anyone with a dream and a drive to make it happen.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
Elyssia is an architect and an engineer first and foremost, one of the most capable in the Rabbit Clan who are in turn the most capable in all of Armello. Given the materials and possibly the manpower, she can quickly fortify an entire city (though a city in Armello is just a large, busy town). Her prowess also lets her pass fortifications set up by another party with relative ease.

Being a politician, as all rabbits are, she is generally good at using the system to her advantage. Also like all rabbits, she can take a good deal of punishment due to having a Body rating of 5. She isn't as good at dishing it out without some decent equipment to help her since she only has a Fight rating of 3, but she can pack a real punch with her measuring staff, hammer, or spade.

Like all Armellians, she has a connection to the Wyld, which allows her to cast magic and regain or balance out her magic levels at dusk. She's barely average with that though, as her Spirit rating is also 3, and can only cast mid to low-tier spells. The rating also affects distance within the kingdom. The map is 72 tiles altogether and she can cast to any tile up to three away from her. A tile can be one entire town, a forest, ruins, a stone circle, a swamp, or a mountain and so for Prismatica that could potentially be the same as casting to another district (where a hero with higher spirit than her could potentially cast across the city). She can also cast Rot spells depending on whether they cost magic or just give Rot, but the same limitations apply. Taking on Rot also results in her taking damage every dawn.

INVENTORY:
Her pouch, hammer, measuring staff, and Rabbit clan dice (because every Armellian carries a dice set of some kind).
MOONBLESSING:
Sanguis

SAMPLES
Narrative:
Elyssia sat on her couch, one leg folded under her as she stared up at the ceiling. These last few days had been stressful and nearly overwhelming. Making the decision to leave the burrows that she knew better than anything else to pursue the crown, only to wake up on a strange moon and managing to survive on her own had been one thing. Then there were the Moon Knights and the scientists with their vessels and foreign technology. They had been helpful and quick to explain things, but the things they spoke of were confusing and she had nearly snapped at one for making a fool of her even though he hadn't been. Thankfully she hadn't.

Their talk of Moonblessings and others like her, the Moonblessed, sounded more like something the Bear Clan would follow than any sensible Rabbit. But she had seen so many of them with her own two eyes to be skeptical. Only a fox had seemed remotely familiar. And he had been well-meaning, but honestly a bit of a headache despite and that so she wasn't too sure about keeping in contact with him. The city was the same, with strange vehicles and bright, flameless lights, as well as the so many different kinds of prismals. And now she was here in this strange and honestly very interesting city, so what happened next?

Elyssia frowned, her eyes narrowing. She had nothing yet. No rank to speak of or source of income. She wasn't too keen on this Moonlacing thing, but the idea of menial labor under someone else for substandard funds was even less appealing. Just not as unappealing as being poor and starving. But without any standing here, she would have to swallow her pride for a time and focus on improving her standing until she could find a way home. It wasn't ideal, and there was a very real chance that she might miss her chance back home. But for now, there didn't seem to be much that she could do.

It was better to approach this as an opportunity of sorts. She stood to go and explore her kitchen. There was much to be gained in the knowledge that she could take home with her. She could even study the architecture of the city. But that was for later.
